Dr M treats all her patients personally, starting with the M-ethod™ Consultation to discuss your desired results and expectations.

Once the treatment has been agreed, you will have some pre-treatment photographs taken. The treatment area will be double-cleansed and the peel will be applied. Numbing cream is available but usually not required. Depending on the type of peel used, this may be neutralised after a set number of minutes, and a treatment masque applied. Your peel concludes with the application of active skin concentrates targeting your main skincare concern, and sun protection.

Following treatment, you will be offered a review appointment and receive aftercare instructions in your inbox.

You will see results over the first few days following treatment, with the optimum results seen after the initial redness has subsided within 48 hours.

Yes, all our chemical peels at the M-ethod™ can be used in combination with most other treatments, with the exception of some laser treatments.

In fact combination of injectables with chemical exfoliation has been proven to produce synergistic and exceptional results. That is why during the M-ethod™ Consultation, Dr M assesses you holistically and creates a bespoke aesthetic treatment plan tailored specifically for you.

The M-ethod™ uses gentle chemical peels that are suitable for all skin types and tones. If you are suffering from a skin or health issue, taking certain medication or currently expecting, you may not be suitable for chemical peels. Dr M will discuss your bespoke treatment plan with you during the M-ethod™ Consultation.

No, a patch test is not required.

You may be asked to use a tretinoin or skin lightening cream for a few weeks prior to treatment. This helps the skin to heal and reduce the chances of skin discolouration, which are rare when chemical peels are applied by a certified practitioner like Dr M.

A week leading up to your appointment, avoid hair colouring/ straightening/ permanent wave treatments, as well as facial scrubs, masks, hair removal (with electrolysis or depilatories). 24 hours prior, avoid shaving the treated area.

If you have a history of cold sores you may be prescribed a course of antivirals prior and following your peel.
